Building products and teams
I joined Learnvest/Northwestern Mutual to co-lead the Financial Products and Money Movement portfolios within the digital Customer Experience. My role involved elevating design quality and fostering collaboration between the mostly NYC-based design team and Milwaukee-based product managers and engineers.
In addition to my regular managerial role, I spearheaded the effort to formalize the hiring process for product design and led the team tasked with developing a brand identity for the department.

Assorted projects from the product work streams that I led with my design portfolio partner. This ranged from iterative enhancements on product detail views to complete redesigns of aggregated financial accounts dashboards and brand new digital tools intended to replace 20th century analog processes.
Design Team Identity

I led the development of a product design team identity to establish our presence after Learnvest's acquisition by Northwestern Mutual. The VP of Product Design initiated this effort to boost morale and attract new hires amid a rapid team expansion. Despite succumbing to executive power dynamics, it was an enjoyable exercise reflecting the team's optimism in the post-acquisition period.
