Product design and design systems

Whether functioning as an individual contributor or as a “player-coach” design manager, I continue to directly impact feature work. By balancing end user needs with strategic business goals, I strive to create well-crafted experiences that deliver both utility and value.

Combining my agency skillset with the experience gained during my time embedded in corporate teams has enabled me to establish the foundation for both software platforms and design systems.

In my 2+ years as the director of product design, I collaborated with the CEO, software and hardware teams, and human performance experts to enhance the software platform, improving both capability and user experience. This was critical to transitioning the company from a garage start up to a recognized player in the B2B fitness technology space.

Discovery and Design Prototypes

I initially served as a design manager in a "player-coach" capacity where I had the opportunity to occasionally contribute to exploratory work. Later, I transitioned to a new team called Enterprise Experience Design (EXD), which functioned as an in-house design consultancy. On that team I leveraged my design expertise to develop concepts and prototypes, aiding executives in effectively communicating their visions to secure buy-in from the C-suite.

BMW USA

As the digital agency of record for BMW USA, we inherited a complex website with marketing pages, calculators, and customization tools. To facilitate a multi-year digital overhaul, I led the development of a design system compatible with their CMS. Leveraging my experience from redesigning Quinnipiac University's marketing on the same platform, I established a design system for future BMW USA website enhancements.
